HV Grapevine News – 10th July
INCIDENT 09/07/2014
Unfortunately we had another intruder incident last night at about 9.30 when a resident saw two youths with hoodies on climb over the front gate and wander around the village. They realized they had been seen and after climbing over one of the apartment complex gates calmly walked past the clubhouse and then climbed over the front gate and ran. The police were called but did not arrive for about 50 minutes and by that time the youths were long gone. Please be vigilant and keep car doors locked and your house/apartment windows and foyer doors/front doors locked. If you do see anyone, please call the police straight away on 131 444, also call the office to let the ERA on duty know, do not confront the intruders.
FIRE AND EMERGENCY PROCEDURES.
Over the last 2 months we have been conducting emergency evacuation trials. These have been completed covering all areas of the village and the Clubhouse. These trials are ongoing and are designed to ensure that residents are aware of what they have to do should a real emergency occur. It also serves the purpose for residents to see who their Area Warden is and for the Area Warden to do likewise. There was a reasonable chance that you may not have been home when your area was evacuated. This is taken into account when accounting for all residents in that area. Thanks to all those who willingly co-operated. Our Emergency Procedures are constantly under review with the aim of making effective an efficient.
Visitor/Tradesmen parking
Please could you make sure that when you have visitors or tradesmen visiting the village that firstly they are aware of our speed limit and secondly that they park on your driveway or in a designated visitors parking space as we have had people parking in very dangerous parts of the village and causing obstructions and restricted vision to oncoming vehicles.
Flu Season Suggestions
As the flu season descends upon us please keep the following in mind to avoid spreading illness this winter. Wash your hands frequently, avoid touching your face, cover your mouth, avoid sharing objects, get enough sleep and manage your stress, drink more water, maintain a moderate exercise programme, eat healthily. Limit alcohol intake and finally listen to your body. Stay at home if you have a fever and are coughing. You will feel better, recover faster if you rest and reduce the risk of infecting others.
