Fire Safety: Kmart have for sale fire Blankets at $14 & Fire extinguishers for $28. Bunnings Blanket $10 extinguishers $20.
Survey: Several people expressed an interest in computer/internet training (e.g. accessing the website). It is hoped to initiate a programme to meet this need.
Lend Lease Visit: Michael Eggington, Managing Director of Retirement Living and Nathan Cockerill, Executive General Manager for Finance in Retirement Living, will be visiting Harbourside Village to provide a business update to the residents on Wednesday 25th June from 3-4 pm. Afternoon tea provided.
Budget 2014-15: Following several meetings and some hard negotiations the Budget has now been agreed, to the benefit of residents.
Turkey & Tinsel Dinner: Payment for this event will be Tuesday 8th July from 1-2 pm and Friday 11th July from 5-6 pm. The costs is $27 for the normal roast dinner, but for those who are vegetarian we have arranged that the caterer will provide salmon for which the cost will be $30. The caterers will be advised for those residents who request it at time of payment.
Refurnishing of the Clubhouse: The May RGM approved the re-commencement of the refurnishing project for the clubhouse. At the June RC it was agreed that the RC Chair Alan Stirling will co-ordinate the project in association with Lend Lease. Initially, this will include liaising with management and with other villages that have or are currently undertaking renovations (e.g. Booragoon, Bibra Lake, Woodlands and Innaloo) to determine their modus operandi, choice of interior décor companies and costs & outcomes. He plans to develop a few options of suggested prioritized list of activities that can be undertaken, together with broad cost estimates identified against each of them and also he will identify various management funding sharing options with all of this information to be taken to residents for discussion.
